Hi all

The many viewpoints on using different class c IPs have been discussed in this forum a few times in the past.
I just wondered if any of you all would like to share opinions and wisdom in regard to the role of nameservers in this particular regard.
Do they matter in any way?

Assuming that ...
.. it indeed makes a difference to use different class c IPs for websites that interlink (in non pathological ways)...

... and that some hosts or DCs decided to attend the demand in regard to c class IPs for SEO purposes by offering multiple class c accounts (like hostgator and others infact do.) ......

... then what about the nameservers ? Would it weaken the desired the optimization effect (im assuming here that there is one) of, say, 5 interlinking sites hosted on 5 different class C IPs if they were und one and the same paor of nameserver ?

example:
A hypothetical company seo---hoster.biz offers an account with 10 different Class C IPs. The nameservers for all 10 slots, however, are always the same
ns1.seo---hoster.biz and
ns2.seo---hoster.biz

Does this make a difference or not ?

My guess would be that it does IF the setup it the setup is relatively small (for example a single server or VPS set up for the purpose outline above), while it probably would matter less with services as huge as hostgator.

any ideas ?

best regards and thanks !!!

IPs and namservers are absolutely NOTHING to do with SEO.

Forget the drivel about class "C" IPs, IP "classing" hasn't even existed in the last 5 years or so
The dumb idea that you can "hide" something that would be a normal occurrence only makes it even dumber.

Link as if the same person didn't own the sites. When you try to hide things from SEs YOU WILL FAIL.
The SE engineers are frankly a whole lot smarter that the average link exchanger and are wise to all the stupid tricks that have been tried.

All those who jumps beyond guidelines and taking shortcuts definitely vanished sooner or later. Better strive for long term clean methods. Forget about interlinking or something looks like manipulation to boost sites, SE most knows them...
