Hi
How long does it take for Google, Yahoo and other search engines to recognize and pick up any changes on my website?
Thinks like new business added to business category, new keywords, and so on.
thank you

^ it could be a day, two weeks, a month.
There is no definite answer to your question Alex. It depends when the bot last crawled your website. It also won't be updated at the same time for all search engines.

Submit your updated page to digg.com and the bots will crawl it faster.

It could be any timespan of days/weeks. But you can always accelerate submitting your pages to high traffic websites.

You can check your website crawling rate with Google webmaster tool account.

Forums and blogs are being daily updated their content is getting crawled too much faster.

while a professional website has its own crawling rate, i think website is being crawled in week a once would be the great. As it shows regularly robots inspecting your website for new content.

As earlier said, if there are some changes happened in well built websites, crawler will detect it in couple of hours.

It takes 15 days to crawl a new site, and for a high ranked site will crawl within seconds.

As alysha suggested, submit articles to Digg.com from your website, your website will most likely get crawled when Digg does due to them pinging Google.

Alternatively, you can get some external links from websites that get crawled often and pray that they crawl yours instead of another external!

It can take anywhere from a few day up to 6 or 9 months...

The time it takes depends on how the web site is marketed, and how SEO is performed.

When I first started developing websites I thought it always took about 6 months for a web site to because visible on Google after launching it, but as I learned more about SEO I found out how I could turn months into days.

With my experience Google is indexing fast than other Search engines. Sometimes Google may pickup new site within few hours. Google likes contents. If contents are unique Google will index soon. Yahoo and MSN take more time to index a new sites. It took around 1 month to get 1 visit from Yahoo while receiving tons of traffic from Google.

I agree, I've seen highly ranked sites get indexed very quickly after changes have been made.

There is no specific time bound for google, yahoo and other search engine to index or crawling any site. It may crawling some sites very frequent basis. If your website site old one and having unique informative content then your newly added categories will be crawled very early. If your website is highly ranked then it may recognize by search engine within seconds.
