Please can any one help. We have over 300 pages and have found some pages that lead back to the same page with a different URL SO NOT GOOD duplicate content! one of the examples is our "index" page also has another URL "home-mainmenu-71.html"
Has any one come across this before and if so what is the best way to make sure this does not happen again.

Yep, it may just be a matter of using better software. When using pre-packaged cms programs, it can be difficult to custom program it and find exactly why bugs are happening. Other than replacing the cms, your only option might be taking the time to setup 301 redirects for each instance of this.
