Sorry if this is in the wrong place, if it is I don't mind having the thread moved. Also, I apologize if I'm not using the right terminology.

When someone embeds your blog or website into their website is that they're using called an i frame?

Any negative effects for the blog owner when their blog is wrapped up like that in another site? Do they get considered duplicate content? Does it affect ads on the blog? For example; do clicks on ads received when being viewed through an i frame not count?

Or is it pretty much harmless?

pages embedded in iframes are crawled and indexed as they would be on the original location

It could be, then again it might not be.

sorry, bots can't read iframes content. Moreover they take it as 'hacking' technique. try simple ssi or php inserts instead of iframe.

I use an iframe with my contact info on different pages but all within my own site. I have not noticed any problem.

I forgot all about this thread. Thanks for the info Chris.

I asked because there was a blog listing site I wanted to join but instead of the site just linking to a blog the blog is somehow embedded onto the site. I figured it was an iframe or whatever those are called.
