You'll hear a lot about "dofollow", but as Chris mentioned, it technically doesn't exist. What it refers to, however, are links that do not have the rel="nofollow" attribute. Many people try to find blogs, forums, or social media sites that don't add the nofollow attribute because they believe that adding a link from that site to theirs will somehow make them more attractive to search engines.
However, if you find yourself getting excited about a "dofollow" list that someone posts somewhere, I urge you to consider whether or not putting your link on each site would really be appropriate for that site. If you were the owner of that site, would such a link make sense, would it improve or contribute to the content or subject, or would it be desired? If the answer to any of those is a no, then don't post the link because, for all practical purposes, you'll be spamming the site with an unwanted link. Spam is the internet equivalent to vandalism.
