Do you know what i mean?
I have the main index page which stays the same with the meta tags (its all php) then the content is within that index.php.
Would i need to use IF statements or something?

I would just like my site content indexed better.

Thanks

Changing the meta elements will NOT make any difference to that.

In our own website, the head section looks like:

Quote:
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=xxxxxxxxx-1" />
<meta name="verify-v1" content="xxxxxxxxxxxxxx=" />
<meta name="rating" content="general" />
<meta name="author" content="www.uniquewebsites.co.uk" />
<meta name="location" content="Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Hadleigh, Newmarket, Suffolk, Norfolk" />
<meta name="copyright" content="2008, Unique Websites" />
<meta name="revisit-after" content="10 Days" />
<meta name="Expires" content="never" />
<meta name="distribution" content="global" />

<!-- #BeginEditable "doctitle" -->
<title>Website Design Bury St Edmunds Web Design Bury St Edmunds</title>
<meta name="Description" content="Attractive, affordable websites individually designed for small businesses: website design Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich areas, Suffolk and Norfolk." />
<meta name="keywords" content="Website design Bury St Edmunds, web design bury st edmunds, website designer bury st edmunds, web designer bury st edmunds, Unique Websites, website design Thetford, web design thetford, website design diss, web design diss, website design stowmarket, web design stowmarket," />
<style type="text/css"></style>
<!-- #EndEditable -->
<link href="styles/unique-websites-style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<style type="text/css"></style>
<link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='web-design-bury-st-edmunds-sub.css'/>
<script type='text/javascript' src='web-design-bury-st-edmunds-sub.js'></script>
</head>
<body>
The meta tags in the editable section (I've put them in bold) have different content for each page and I create them anew (copy and paste and then change the keywords) in each page. The rest is created in the master file. Ignore the script lines - they call up our submenu software.

Hope this helps. Note that some people would say to put fewer keywords per page - others say to put more.

Personally, I do it like this.

index.php -> template page. it calls other pages like mypage.inc.php with URL rewriting.

mypage.inc.php -> content page. i have my meta information and my text in it.

i can insert the information from mypage.inc.php in index.php and it looks like mypage.html but it is really index.php?page=mypage

hope it helps

I've just realised how simple this was. It was just the matter of using IF statements for the content.
Done it now, I guess i just wasnt thinking.
