whats difference between on page optimization and landing page optimization ?????

Landing page optimising is for creating a page that has instant impact and is designed to make users TAKE the course of action required.
Used with PPC campaigns or pressure selling campaigns.

Optimising for search is where a page is designed to draw the viewer in, and guide them into a course of action.

In my opinion, on page optimization most commonly refers to optimizing onpage factors in an attempt to improve search engine rankings. This includes things like putting your target keywords in prime locations such as the title, meta description, headers, regular text, etc.

I agree with chrishirst's explanation about landing page optimization. It is the process of optimizing a page that someone may directly land on via search engines or other sources. It more refers to optimizing the page to convert visitors better.

Simply put, on-page optimization targets search engine crawlers.

While landing page optimization targets the viewers.

Hey dear! I think on page and offpage are both like 2 sides of a coin. Without one,the other one just can't be.... Offpage includes DS,SBS,AS,blog posting, Press release......

They both can mean the same thing, depending on what you are referring to.

I am a bit curious on this topic...

Might an example of a successful "landing page" be using an index.html page on sub-domains as opposed of just creating the sub-domains and listing the actual content on the sub-domin index.html page itself?

The reason I ask this question is I wanted to know if a site I had in the past was actually using a "landing page"...I believe that it was, but I thought I would post this message to see what others had to say.

I had a site in the past with quite a few sub-domains, and for each sub-domain, I dropped an index.html page in each sub-domain that explained what was sold in that sub-domain.

Ex: I had an electronics 'department' on my site, hence it was electronics.mysite.com and on the index.html page inside that sub-domain, I had some relevant information regarding my electronics selection on my site and on that index.html page was a button to shop electronics section.

Is this what it's meant by utilizing a 'landing page'?

On-Page Optimization deals with the proper use of title tags, meta tags, alt attributes, keywords, description, sitemap, robots.txt and h1/h2 tags.

Landing Page Optimization is being done to grab more Visitors. if you are doing landing page optimization you will get more visitors and by onpage optimization you will be crawled by search engine Crawlers.

First off, you quoted the question, but obviously didn't actually read it, the second part of the asked question was in reference to "landing page" optimization, not "off page".

Second, don't you think you missed the most important part of on-page? CONTENT.

Third, I question the fact that there is even such a thing as "off page" optimization, maybe it would be better described as marketing or promoting your site.

There's nothing WRONG with doing things off-page, but labelling it optimizing is basically always wrong

Nope!
Landing page optimising is for PPC campaigns NOT "organic" search, and is where the intention is to push the visitor directly to take the "call to action" required for the campaign.

Landing pages by their nature are NOT particlarly well suited for "organic" search and as such should be excluded from search engine crawlers.

Finally a forum that makes some sense!

I have tried so many times to explain "SEO" no matter what others and "Wikipedia" say about traffic and links, is in it's pure form all about text content.

Content is King!

As for landing pages - Have to agree with Chris ( Yet again - man he's too smart! Someone slap him and wish hime a Mery Xmas) - >

If a page is perfect for the search query, does it matter if it is a landing page or a search engine optimized other page?

The age old question eh!
