Hi,

I am very good at what I do, but a novice regarding SEO. I need to know from those of you with experience if it is possible to get my website in the top ten with various keywords if I start today pouring over the material here and various other places to learn how to do it myself? How long does it take to see results under various scenario's? Also, after a search, I found this site as #1 on SEO. http://www.top10seotips.com/what_is_SEO.htm . He offers 10 free tips on SEO (a link 3/4 down his page called Top 10 SEO Tips) and a 35 page free download. Does anyone know him and are these 10 tips what I need to get started. He is ranked #1 at google, but I want to know from the people here because I trust this forum...I really want to do it myself, but I need to know if I devote myself to learning SEO, is it possible for me to achieve top 10 or do I really have to have professional help and who from and how much?...I appreciate the help and I will check back...Tim.

you can do it by yourself , but if you want to be successful you can hire someone to do the job for you then you can also learn from your SEO. Start reading now and apply all the learnings you discover. All the techniques and advices can be found in Forums. Also the link can be use on your signature using the targeted keywords. I saw on your post now that you are really new in the field of SEO career.

yes, its better to do SEO by yourself. IF you're not sure and not lots of things to learn go to the forum then ask, recently someone from India PM me and ask for guidance and tips on SEO. I just tell the same thing. GO to FORUMS.

Yes you can definitely do it on your own. Start reading some tips and basics of how it is done. And then try it our on your own website or blog. With regards to the results, it will surely take much of your time before you see good results.

SEO is a continuous learning. And patience is really a must.

the good thing about having the internet is that we have easy access to information that we would need in building or learning something... The thing is that those information that you would get maybe incomplete or inaccurate that is why it is always best to use resource from a good site.. here are a few good reads about learning to start SEO

If you have a lot of time for optimizing your website then do it yourself
Learn SEO as it's not as difficult as it may seem and practice different SEO techniques
usually it takes some months or even years to bring your website to the top
however it can take less time if your niche isn't very competitive
Even if you hire a SEO specialist you shouldn't be surprised that SEO is a time taking process
