i am stuck in yahoo. I dont know wot to do with it to get my site listed on first page of yahoo. i am trying from past 3 months but still my site is at 2nd page. but before that it was on top 5 positions. Can nay one help me? what are the activities that is required for yahoo, is there any difference between yahoo optimization and Google?

Yahoo cares more about internal links and the anchor text used for those links. Unfortunately I don't see any internal links to your homepage that have good anchor text. You also have several pages with no content but a large flash animation. These flash pages are particularly poor for seo. You should improve your internal linking and work at building more backlinks. Rankings on most search engines are primarily determined by the quality/quantity of your backlinks.

I think google only cares on the links. I don't optimize for yahoo but I got good position in yahoo.

Care for Google first and worry about the other search engines later. Yahoo and MSN seems like a very good challenge as well. But you must be well first in the big G.

yep, yahoo gives good importance to on-page optimization factors so I think as Jeremy said you need to focus more on internal linking and site structure and more than enough flash won't help you as point of view SEO.

Jeremy,

Does this mean that it's bad to have your inner pages just link back to the home page with the anchor text of "Home" or "Home Page" ?

Im having the same problem as well. Also does having a "https" throughout the website affect the page rankings as well??

Im having problems with Yahoo indexing my site, ive submitted the sitemap but the position is quite low. Google is great as it always is, but yahoo im having problems with.

how is your ranking in google?

As per our experience to rank better in yahoo .. start bookmarking...
yahoo has soft conrner in social bookmarking ,Social bookmarking will get you in top in yahoo ..I have personal experience for it.

Thank you very much guyz for participating. JEREMY, Look my keyword is EPDM and i am on the top in Google for www.epdmcoatings.com but not in yahoo, i did every thing for it.

You are right, yahoo gives importance to Book marking, as i have experienced it i did some work with technorati and it improves the listing, but once it happen that i comes up and go down again just after 2 days, why it happen.

social bookmarking will definietly help and just having many, many backlinks in general with the correct anchor text.

well social bookmarking does play a big role in making lots of traffic and acquiring good quality backlinks but try to mix it with other SEO methods as well for better results.

You need to do Social Bookmarking for your web site.yahoo hardly consider bookmarking and as per my knowledge yahoo is not considering nofollow and dofollow concept.use more times that key word for which you need result.

Start to do link building and bookmarking.build more backlinks without following dofollow and nofollow concepts.yahoo algorithm is different from google.so it is much easy to get on top in yahoo.
