Every one said that back links can improve your SEO. I wana know how? Back links can Improve the site PR and also the search engine ranking? What are the factors of Back links that increase the PR and which one increases the Site positioning? Any one Explain it!!!!!

Links improve the PROMOTION of a site they don't "optimise" it.

Anchor text affects the "ranking" and the PR is what affects the PR.

Back links are the small part of the complex which is called SEO. You need to have good density there, you need to have good meta tags. You need to have site map etc...

Backlinks are mostly for PR. But PR doesn't play a good role anymore with regards to the rankings. Chris is right about the Anchor text. It helps more on making a site up the rankings.

Backlinks that are on topic, the same topic as your site, can be helpful especially if they are quality or popular sites. As was mentioned previously the anchor text is more for ranking for specific keyword terms. Mix up the types of anchor text you use so it is natural linking, in fact work at the quality of your website so you gain as much natural traffic and links pointing back to your web pages as possible. A blog on your site with updated content can be helpful for indexing more of your pages in the search engines and more opportunities to optimize your blog pages with important keywords.

Hi there,

Backlinks are one of the many factors used by search engine algorithms to work out the quality of a website, which it is hoped would result in high quality websites. They are an important part of the mix. However before you get carried away getting backlinks to everything try and make sure that your backlinks are relevant to your site and if your using Google the goliath try to get sites with pageranks at least higher than your own.

There many other factors you must also consider eg content quality, article promotion with link back to your site, making sure that your using the right keywords ect etc

In off page optimization we talk about these back links. More no of authorized back links would help in gaining nice PR. These relevant back links should be built consistently on a regular basis.

backlinks help bring traffic to your site but not to the extent that it also increases PR.

Hey i think do not go for the only backlink instead of it if you get the quality backlink than it is more effect full than normal backlinks.

I read the Google algorithm in that it is clearly indicate that if your site's back link are comes from the quality backlinks than it will give you the more advantages to get the high PR and also search engine position.
