Hi

This is my 1st post on this forum so hi to you All!

We've recently purchased the SEO Services of an Indian company that provides on a weekly basis:

DIRECTORY SUBMISSION

DIRECTORY LINKS

SOCIAL BOOKMARKING

ARTICLE SUBMISSION

ARTICLE LINKS

They gave us weekly reports about what they did and everything seems to be ok. Now my question is "How can we know what they do is great or just ok?"

What are the important criteria we need to take into account to find this out?

I hope you didn't pay too much for the service. Assuming the company you hired does a great job all they're providing is some very low quality links. At best they'll do little and at worst they'll get you in trouble.

The question is less about whether or not this company is doing their job well as it is about what their doing having limited value in the first place.

These kind of link building is not coming under the quality links. Directory Submission is now just the name of links but search engine is giving very less importance to them.

Social Bookmarking is irrelevant unless and until they have good channel at there so with the help of that they can promote them.

For each and every service you will have to check backlinks. If they are providing reports on every week .... than you can check with two way.

Backlinks - Increase in number of links by Yahoo ecplorer

SERP - Check whether your search engine ranking is working fine or not.

yes hope u have provided them many anchor texts and diff titles coz that does have effect and yeah the service shouldnt cost much coz its the basic things which u can also do yourself

You can see if the targeted keywords relevant to you site is on the first page of Google, Most importantly in the fisrt 5 results.

If your business is doing fine and producing fruitful results then you just hired a reliable SEO company otherwise everything would turn into waste.

As for the tasks listed that they do weekly, I can say that it is not that worth it if you pay a high amount of money for them. Knowing if they do great or not is really hard to tell I guess. For now, monitor your inbound links.

I wouldn't waste your money on general directory submission. If you're going to submit to directories, at least do deep link or niche directories

You must use 'Google Analytics' for your website. This will tell you in black and white whether the company you hired is doing a quality work or not. Google analytic will show you the daily traffic status to your website in black and white. So according to Google Analytics if your traffic is increasing and you are getting more visitors daily that means they are working positively

I would say if your site is getting profit and a good rates of visitors then there is no need to know whether they are doing good or bad because it is understood that on their good work is helping you to generated more revenue.
But on the other side it will be better to know more about SEO. Just read out more about SEO and try to learn some important aspect yourself, that will help you to judge whether the company you have hired is good, better or best.
