What are the techniques to implement to be in good SERP. Apart from meta tags and anchor text what are the other techniques we should focus on when thinking of good ranking in search engines from particular keywords.

As now a days everyone is targeting on niche keywords and less competitor keywords the competition for the race of keywords is also becoming more and more complex.

i know some basic techniques but, what are the best techniques for good SERP for the keywords

Well you need to link build your site. Forum posting, Social bookmarks, yahoo answer, directory submission. Its better to post be a member and post to a related forum.

Do some keyword research and find the highest volume, lowest competition search terms. The Google Keyword Tool is pretty valuable for that.

Once you've picked your terms, optimise your pages so your TITLE, H1 and body copy contain the keywords. Don't stuff them in there, make it readable and make it make sense.

Then you need to build inbound links. Make the anchor text your keywords.

You should start to see results once Google sees this activity.

I think you don't just need to build inbound links, you must consider quality links (backlinks from relevant sites) to have a better ranking in serp.

Submit article on top article directories, book mark your keywords with a short story, do classified submission, at least 1 press release in 50 days. Rest all things are only going towards get more back link, more back link that's all.........try to post good keyword oriented content at each place where do you find it might be placed.

Get some inbound links from relevant high PR pages and start forum posting, blog commenting and article submission to gain mote back links. If you have images on your home page then use your keyword in image url and alt text.

Make it Active to post on related forum then the visitor will come to you site; post on the webmaster like forum to get backlinks(you must contribute first and include you niche in the sig); SB is good place to get targeted traffic too;submit good article with link contained in author notes to large article website will lead you more visitor too! Hi

try to have backlinks from higher pr baclinks for fast indexing
2) backlinks from content pages considered as quality backlinks and must be relevant
3)article submission ,blog submission and put your keywords in content as hyper link.

like img optimization, try to find those keywords for your site which are useful to your site not just competitive.
5) and should do interlinking of your web pages through the content
6) try to host your site on fast servers
