Hello my lovely members:
After trying on some methods, I only use three methods to promote my sites and will continue using them. Of course I do not make much money but I got some traffic from these methods.
1. Directory submission
2. Article submission
3. Social bookmarking
1. Directory submission
Do not have to be old dirs, but good names (freelinks.com, dirsubmit.com), stay away from ntch.com, wmdl.info, or etc.
2. Article submission
Good articles directories that approve 95% of my articles.
3. Social bookmarking
mixx.com, digg.com, etc.
How about your methods? Can you please share some?

most of us have the same methods...it just differs on how we do it...

Article submission seems to work best for me. However it requires a lot of time if you are going to write/rewrite the articles yourself. But in terms of SEO, article backlinks are very valuable and relevant.

Article submission supplements my various blogs, which then translate into sales. So for the most part I spend my time working on articles to let the traffic funnel into better spots for me to convert sales. As a result it works on my SEO as well, and 75% of my traffic comes from search engines on a couple of my better sites.

I'd add blog comments to that. Good quality directories are becoming fewer but still quite useful. Link exchange is another useful method but quite a few webmasters remove your link after a while.

i agree with tadisaus2. the three that he mentioned probably are the best ways to promote sites, with article submission the most helpful of them all.. time-consuming with the rewriting and all but you are assured of unique visitors.
