Hello everybody,

I am new to this forum and this is my first post.

I am the owner of a PR5 business website and I would like to sell text links on it to pay my bills.

The site looks really neat and I'm a bit worried that my clients will be offended when they see text links on my site.

So I was thinking about hiding them from the user (but not search engines!) by using certain css hacks like {text-indent: -1000px}.

I know this isn't the most ethical way to sell text links but I am make this clear right from the start and charge a lower price for the text link buyer, I think it's a win-win-situation for both parties.

But will there be any buyers for those kinds of links and where would I sell them?

Do you think Google et al won't be able to figure out what is going on? Hidden links are pretty easy to detect and throw up red flags. And selling links is against Google's terms of service. You risk you site being severely downgraded or even removed from the search results. I don't know why you would consider doing this.

I'm confused.

Why would your clients be offended by links on a site you own?

Why do you needs links to pay the bills, aren't your clients?
