How do you guys manage high PR backlinks without do follow blogs or reciprocal link exchange?

Is there any other way to get actual page high PR backlinks preferably from homepage

Contrary to most advice from self titled SEOs, this is more a function of the quality of your content than your promotion efforts.

Is this a joke? The links you get directly from article submission and forum posting are virtually worthless. If by "article submission" you mean posting to article farms like ezinearticles, I'm sure associating your site with the usual rubbish to be found there won't do you any favours.

I got hundreds of articles on article directories and I have great success on them. The link you get from these directories doesn't carry that much weight in terms of PR but knowing that these articles can rank well in SERPS on their own, I still go with them because they still gives lots of traffic (and money).

hmmm.... could it be, because directory submission is time consuming and absolutely worthless for traffic?

Could it be... because nobody actually uses directories to find websites?

As i think, the good, "natural" and not-so-overused way to get backlinks may be writing specialized (and strictly useful) articles for commercial websites that need content. The website owner gets a huge text block that gives him low-freq traffic from SEs and you get the valuable permanent backlink which is not burried deep into directory menus and submenus...

That's kinda new idea to me, will try it one day.

The hard point here is that you have to write useful and unique content and you'll not be able to "serialize" that..

The variation is to write stuff that they want to link to.

For example: this query
The page at terracotta.org links to a page on my site. My page was written first. They promoted my page in quite a few places. Then added a link (back to me), when they created their own page.

I guess the ultimate solution to that is having a page people would want to go back to and share with others - this way is easy and difficult at the same time. Still, however hard you promote something, the key to success is in what you promote.

Btw, I don't really think blog comments can be deemed a valid source of high-quality backlinks (I mean backlink-wise, not traffic-wise).

In my own opinion you can't have a high PR without dofollow backlinks. Dofollow backlinks are necessary to get high rank in google because they only preferred dofollow moves. But you can have high rank in other search engines such as yahoo, MSN/Bing even without dofollow backlinks.
