I suggest you not worry about PR at all at this stage. It is not a very useful measuring rod these days. Just concentrate on making your site as interesting and useful as possible. If you build it for users, and network with real people in a real manner, people will be attracted to your site, and it will grow.

Agreed - PR is the last thing you need to worry about. If you create good content, offer good resources, tell good stories, have fun/interesting videos., people will link to your site and your PR will be increased this way.

As to get a PR 7 or above, good luck. I will eat my shorts if it happens

Agreed. 7 is tough. I have a friend with a PR6 site, and I work on it semi-regularly, so I have a pretty good idea what it takes to add up to 6. I still think he's a long way off from 7, though. The problem is there's just not enough people who are naturally interested in what he's got. Not that people are not interested, but his particular market is just not big enough.

That PR6 site only makes enough money to pay for a vacation or two every year. I'm aware of a couple sites with only a PR of 4 or 5, that have made millions over their lifetime. PR is not a direct indicator of success in the least. In fact, I know a PR3 site that has made millions.

plus if I may add, the curve is exponential which makes it harder and harder to go up one number. Especially after 5.

if I were your I'm not wasting time and focusing too much on your site's pr, instead use your time in gathering your quality and related back links. Through this your pr and serp rankings will slowly increase.

If you want to make money using third party program, so PR is very important, but if you want make money on your website by PPC or affiliate, PR is not important..

First of all you should target to improve your ranking and traffic then you work for PR.

As everyone else seems to have said - stop worrying about PR !

Worry about how much traffic you get against how much of that traffic converts to sign-ups/sales whatever.

If you have a PR10 site and no customers then was it worth the effort? If you have a PR1 site but 1 in 10 visitors converts, was it worth it?

Build backlinks continuously and keep analysing the traffic.

You need a lot of work to make your site PR 7, it takes long as well. If you really want then I suggest you start hirring someone for that. Find a reliable SEO to help you out.
