This is a quote from willcode4beer on another post..."Create content that is useful and interesting. When you have interesting stuff on your site, folks will naturally link to it. When it has genuinely useful information, people will just link to it."

If I successfully create content that is useful and interesting, what next? How do I best go about getting people to see my content for the first time?
How often do I need to update fresh content to be effective?
Are video's and picture's a must?
Anything else I may be missing?

Also concerning building links for SEO...
I have read on this, but still find myself having trouble getting this aspect going. I've been told that a link page is probable not the best way to go.
If I do not have a link page then where do I put all of the links that I link with?
Should I try and get one-way links from top rated sites and if so how does one do this?
Anything else that I may be missing?

I am going now to read up here and learn what I can. Infact, I am going to devote at least one hour a day on study here and other places reliable people here suggest. I appreciate any help...

If your page is about non-competitive terms, it will rank when people search for it.

You don't need to update content for it to be "effective". I have pages that haven't changed for years still ranking highly.

Surely that depends on the subject matter. If your site is about funny videos, then it's a must.

If the links are related, you should have no problem inserting them into your content, where they make sense. People don't go to links pages looking for material that supports your content. They look for supporting links as they read your content. Look at Wikipedia. They link to supporting material as and when they think it will help their visitors.

It all depends on what monetization method you are using on your site. If you have your articles greatly formatted and have good SEO in terms of keywords, then your visitors may see your ads floating on your pages.

Also, an email capture form is also good to get their emails and market to them later.

If you already have keywords ranking on Google, don't stop supplying lots of backlinks like social bookmarks and article submissions to let it stick on the first page for a long time.

Link building would be great You need to get your interesting content read by many people, one way you can do is to bookmark it using digg or stumbleupon.

That depends entirely on your purpose. If it's a blog, then you can post one article a day. If it's a site, you don't really need to update your content very often. You can create an article or press release section in your site so you can post your fresh contents.

Videos, I think it depends on your niche. If you're site/blog is bout tutorials, arts/crafts, yoga or karate then a video will certainly help

About the pictures, I find it essential. Why? because I easily get bored with sites that's full of text and not a single image/picture in sight (except for the buttons).

I believe SEO is a continuous process, once you stop you'll get left behind your competitors.

Were you referring to a "Link Exchange Partners Page"? If so, then yes. Creating a dedicated page just for your link partners would be the best way rather than putting their links on the footer of your index page.

Yes! It's the best and most important thing in link building that you should do One way links are better than 2-way. One way links get even better if you can acquire it from high ranking or high PR sites which are related to your niche.

* Have you checked your targeted keywords? Make sure you have the right set of keywords to optimize.
* Did you use your targeted keywords inside your content? If not, then you better do so
* Have you created your xml and html sitemaps? Submit your xml sitemap to Google, Yahoo and MSN for faster indexing of your pages. The html sitemap may be optional, that is if you have few pages.

GOOD LUCK!!!
