I recently launched my first website www.careerscompany.com I want to get high page rank. So far i have joined 30 forums with signature option. Can anyone tell me ONE other task i should complete to get high google page rank.

I'm afraid one option would not work for you - first, sig links are not capable of transferring much pagerank - consider the number of links per page and the fact that most of the thread pages are n/a.

The key to link-building is variety, so if I were you, I would consider options available within your niche, which would help to attract targeted traffic.

BTW @OP = Forum sigs are one of the worst ways to earn PR, just forget about it altogether.

PR doesn't really matter much does it? People are saying that it's just another thing on the Google toolbar now.

the main factor that affect a website page rank is these:
1 - the amount of visitors that visit the website
2 - the domain name age, older domain name usually got more page rank than new one.
3 - the amount and the quality of link back to the website

Google doesn't look at traffic to decide either PageRank or SERPs.

Domain age is one factor Google looks at when generating SERPs, but has nthing to do with PageRank

This is the only factor in the calculation of PageRank - Linking: both Quality & Quantity of links is taken into consideration...

You have to get links from releated niche sources. That really helps a lot to get increment. Apart from that, If you can get PR5+ links(Even OFF TOPIC) that really helps. I have one good experience, I have got PR4 within 30 days, I just had got 10 PR5+ links and had update my content daily as well as add new content daily, I have got PR4 to my homepage.... That is really great man.....

you can do link exchange with high pr web sites.

no i have seen someone has got PR 3 or 4 for fresh domains within a month or two. exchange links with good sites and find good backlinks. you can win. but remember pagerank is not much worth!!

I don't think that this will make a solid base for a link building campaign ..
Imagine that you made tens of comments in a blog , few months later , the owner of the blog switches to nofollow to prevent huge amount of spam ?
Social bookmarking is good for instant traffic and fast indexing of new pages .. but not efficient for seo ..

Try submitting to link directories , article marketing and link exchange with websites related to your content ..

TO be honest better work properly first with those forums and see the performance... Forums links are valuable.. but has to keep the quality by selecting high ranked and good forums

Forum links are not valuable in terms of ranking. They may (only may) bring you traffic, but that's all.

If you are unsure of something, it's better to ask shakir, rather than spread misinformation and confuse people.

To gain toolbar PR, you have to get links from pages that have high page rank. Try finding blog pages that have good PR and posting your link on them. It's not going to help you out in the rankings though because none of them will be relevant to your site, but you will still get an increase in pagerank.

You should continue having those links coming in and you can see rankings in the long run. Post relevant and helpful comments on high PR blog posts and link back to your site.

Also write articles from well-researched keywords and submit them to article directories and you can see traffic coming in. This is also one way of getting higher rank: consistent flow of traffic.

Getting inbound links on forum posting isn't enough!.. You have to participate in all of the other strategies as well like blog commenting, article & directory submissions, classified ads, press releases, link exchange and social bookmarking!..
