Hi Everyone,

I'm currently involved in building a very large site, with lots of automatically generated pages. The whole shebang will be impossible to optimise by hand (we're estimating around 20,000 pages within the first year...) so I've been investigating the potential of doing it all automatically. I came across this article, thought you all might be interested in it.

Remove the stars, there's a banned word in the URL

Ed- if you're working with that much content I presume you're using a CMS? If that's the case why don't you generate page titles/metas from the main page heading, and/or excerpts from the text copy?

Our coders are working on a custom CMS system.

What were going to do is have placeholders in the TITLE, H1 & throughout the copy where we will feed the keywords in from a database, so that's pretty much how it's going to work. The beauty of doing it this way is that the SEO will be fluid without us having to change a thing on the pages themselves: the keywords can be changed in one central DB and be displayed in the pages depending on performance.

heard about bluehat seo for the first time. anyways have bookmarked the link and will have a look on the article tonight while at home.
i know about white hat, black hat and grey hat seo techniques only, are there few more of those ??

Bluehat? This is my first time hearing that. The link is down edgray. Anyways, whatever the color of that SEO is, if you have done it correctly, you can have you goal of ranking well in no time.
