I use a generator for my sitemap. First of all, it is easy and also it is quick.
Just wondering what everyone does for their sitemaps.

We use a Content Management System for our websites that automatically re-generates the xml file each time a page is added/deleted. Also good for keeping the last modified datetime current.
I do something similar. I use Apache Sling as a kind of CMS. I use it to generate the sitemap.xml file on request (though in my case, it never actually exists as a file).

There are many easiest ways available to generate the xml sitemaps. You can generate the sitemap here at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com. It is easy and you can generate the sitemap in seconds.
If you have few pages in your sitemap I mean till 100 pages you can use sitemap.htm and your site has more pages mean more than 100 then use xml-sitemaps.com to generate the sitemap.xml for you. You just need to set the priority.

Your site has pages that aren't easily discovered by Googlebot during the crawl process - for example, pages featuring rich AJAX or Flash.
Your site is new and has few links to it. (Googlebot crawls the web by following links from one page to another, so if your site isn't well linked, it may be hard for us to discover it.)
Your site has a large archive of content pages that are not well linked to each other, or are not linked at all.
If the site can be crawled to find the pages, then the sitemap really isn't necessary.
The other data, such as how often a page is updated or it's relevance aren't discoverable by a tool that crawls the site.

I've also been using xml-sitemaps.com and for the life of me I cannot figure out where or how it is finding old links I've deleted of the server. My ISP uses Apache and I've gone through every file and directory and cannot figure out where they're hiding.
