My company is fairly new in general, about 6 months, and even newer to the SEO world. We have had great SEO results on Google and Yahoo in a short amount of time, just not Bing...What does Bing do differently? and what is Bing looking for? Thanks!

SEOmoz just posted an article about that. It's a little short on actionable steps, but I would assume that they will publish more as their testing results come through. For right now, though, I think that if you search for SEO for Live (the old version of Bing), you might be able to find some useful results that are still applicable. Things may change in the future as Microsoft and Yahoo work together, but I have no idea how long the transition will take or what it will look like in the end.

I dont think there is much different but Bing takes a bit more time. It takes longer before they start trusting sites and Yahoo also in a way. So just keep doing what you are doing and im sure Bing will catchup.

i dont think they have much different thing on rank. the most factor is backlinks.

why do you want to rank on bing? few users use bing compare to google I think you need to focus on SE that will give you huge traffics.

Backlinks While backlinks are still used in the bing algorithm, it seems not to the same level as Google. Backlink counts for top 10 sites in Bing are much lower than Google, suggesting less importance.

Anchor Text It seems that Bing focuses more heavily on links with relevant anchor text, so that should influence your linking strategy - get your text anchor text right.
Onpage Optimization One of the more contensious factors, but many SEO experts believe Bing is weighting more heavily towards on-page optimization. Not sure this will remain the case, if in fact it is the case.
- Keywords in URLs add significant ranking benefits
- Title Tags are as important as always
- Internal link anchor text seems to add significant weight to content relevance
- Age & Authority It appears that Bing places a higher weighting on site/domain age and authority than Google. Again a factor that is surely not sustainable given the importance of social media and blogs in terms of relevant results.

Bing Loves Titles
If you want to make it to the top of Bing, be sure to have a title that correlates to the subject at hand. Without following this SEO tip (or is a DEO tip?), your other efforts may be lost.

Thanks for that information as well, I was curious about Bing too. I was considering putting a bit of effort towards ranking in Bing just incase it happens to become the next big thing, so I'd be ahead of the game.

With Google especially, some marketers are scared to link out to other websites because they don’t want their Page Rank to be lowered. On Bing, linking out actually appears to be smiled upon.

I think the transition would go for about 2 or 3 years.. This has been a serious move for yahoo to use bing for their search.. In the end, it would create a perfect match for google..

Anyways, a trick to rank on bing is to observe IBLs of those sites who've got their first page.. You might find it odd, but if the things they did made them available for click (visible on first page), that means, duplicating what they do could also make you available for click..

It will take some time to rank in bing but it's more easier than yahoo. For me Bing loves lot of links even if it's a nofollow.

There seems to be a lot of opinions about this.
The things that most people seem to agree on are
that Bing places more emphasis (relative to Google)
on:

Keyword friendly URLs
Age of the domain

Apparently MS put out a Bing SEO whitepaper a while ago
which just covers the same kind of things that Google already
recommends.

To be honest I don't think it matter as of the moment. I think you should focus on google since it is what a lot of users are really using in the first place.
