I'm currently optimizing my website with a particular keyword. As part of my effort I put " Search *the keyword* " inside the search box. I would like to know if search engines can read this or not, does anyone know?

If it is hard-coded in there...then I'm saying yes, the SEs can read it.

SEs still going to crawl that but not sure if its going to index..

I'd love to know the answer. Try a test: make up a random string of characters, put them in the field and see, once the page has been crawled, if it is indexed.

I'm guessing that Google will read the text, but I doubt very much it will get indexed and count towards an SEO effort, but you never know...
