I'm looking for a traffic analyzer for my website so that I can see how many hits I get per day. I've been messing with google analytics but it shows me having 0 page view /day, which I know is wrong.

Does anyone use any script or anything for website traffic analysis? I'd like to see where my traffic is coming from.

I am using Joomla, and am having trouble finding an extension that lets me do this.

Hmm.. very odd. It all of a sudden picked up 50 visitors out of no where.

It went from 0 to 50 when I refreshed. Does anyone know if it takes a while to update? I just set my account up about 5 or 6 hours ago.

Yes, it takes a while to update as it's not real time. This isn't a major disadvantage as you rarely need to know what your traffic is doing as it arrives. GA gives a good level of information that is easy to get to so I recommend sticking with it til you know your way around

Have you thought about using search engine friendly URLs?

okay I will try using the search engine friendly URL's. Last time I tried turning them on it killed my site completely and I had to go disable them, but I didn't follow the steps on that article that you gave me.

Also, about GA, do you know how long it takes to update? 12 hours? 6 hours? 24? I only ask because I'm anxious lol

I think it was around 3 hours last time I checked.

You can check yourself if you do something that makes your visit to your own site easily identifiable (like searching for a really long piece of quoted text from one of your pages). See how much time passes before you see your visit in the stats.

Yes, I use Alexa to track my website traffic statistics in terms of number of visitors visiting my website. You can also use compete.com as a website analyzer.

IF you using joomla it has a plug in called joomla stats it gives you quite a detailed view of the traffic to your site I have been using it on the joomla website and found it to be quite good. I think you can get it from here http://www.joomlastats.org/

I don't think that's a great option.

Thanks a lot guys. Sometimes Google Analytics takes 2-3 days before it updates my traffic stats. I'll check out that joomla extension and if it doesn't look promising I'll check out the others.

I'm using statcounter and Google Analytics for traffic analyzer. Statcounter is good because they update the data immediately while google analytics data is delay. But the advantage of using google analytics is, it's good for reporting and analyzing traffic.
