I have read so many forums and so many articles about SEO.
But I some how feel the people have complicated the whole scenario about SEO.

Most of the times, I do not understand what are they talking about. May be its because of my lack of experience and some technical jargon.

But still, personally SEO should sound natural to a bot.
When you do on page and off page SEO, it should not be as if you are doing it for the bots. It should as near to the user requirements as possible.

I'd be glad if some seniors out here, take out some time and post some SEO tips for start outs, that will help clear the confusion which many of these hi-fi technical write ups about SEO caused.
Also , correct me if I am wrong somewhere..

I agree with you - you DO need to keep the end reader in mind, not just SEO. HOWEVER, if you want you website to be found for "keywords abc" then it DOES help your placement in the search engine results pages (serps) if you include "keywords abc" in the title tag and h1 tag and then scatter it throughout the h2-h6 tags, alt text, image names, page urls, content etc. It also helps if you create offpage SEO with "keywords abs" in the anchor text of backlinks to your website.

At the end of the day, you have to strike a balance between SEO and the user.

I agree that people have complicated it. It's because there is no concrete formula, so everyone debates certain aspects. For example, no one ever seems to agree on the value of link exchanges or the importance of PR.

But yes it should seem natural, and that's why blackhat SEO is a no-no.

Yeah, I agree. You have to try and make SEO optimization seem natural. When I see some people write articles optimized for a keyword, they may just over use the keyword in a way that makes it awkward to read. Try to seem natural when optimizing content.

Normaly SEO for bots are considered as blackhat tricks. A dedicated SEO should always think about the user and should give value to the visitor.

On page SEO is done by giving your site the meta descriptions and keywords. Offsite SEO can give your site credibility in search engine bots and will give your site proper ranking in search results.

SEO is a good process for optimizing a website with natural links in SERPs. And natrual links will help you a lot for better improvement.

It sounds complicated because it is complicated. As for obvious reason that google likes to keep a big secret of how their algo system works. That's why what people does is keeping figuring it out. As a result... many different theories are concluded, making it even more mind boggling sometimes.

Yea we check on a lot of SEO companies out there and none of the rank high or get a lot traffic for themselves and they claim that they can your business. How is that? We had a client say to us well you are going to optimize our site with one keyword and it costs this but we are going here for 100 keywords and its cheaper. Clients don't understand the whole SEO process its complex overall and time consuming but worth it.
