SEO will not guarantee you anything at all. Good content and therefore returning visitors will. Seriously, do a bit of SEO, skip the fluff (there are some good threads stickied on this forum) and spend your time on what your visitors would like to see/read.

SEO cannot guarantee any position (maybe just if you are Matt Cutts and know google algorithm). You can predict a page or you can determine SEO difficulty according to your keywords.
