Hi,

I created a digg entry with the anchor text being pointing to my website. It was dofollow link, but after few days they have changed to nofollow. Please let any one tell me why this has happened. Is there any thing I can do to avoid this happen the next time.

Also suggest me how can i change this nofollow to dofollow.

Digg changed the links to prevent people from spamming them. You shouldn't be submitting content just to get a link. You should be submitting content because you think the community at Digg will be interested in it.

Digg are pretty hot. I know they banned many ip addresses as well. Spam must be a big issue

I think this is pretty smart. Digg isn’t adding nofollow to everything, just the links that they’re less sure about. Once a story looks real to them, I can imagine that they would lift the nofollow.

The things is;

If people used "Digg" for the RIGHT reason instead of just dropping self-promo, spammy links IT WOULDN'T BE NECESSARY!!!!

So basically YOU have caused the "problem" yourselves!!

Digg has the control on the links attribute so you can't do anything to make it dofollow.

Not all links are nofollow only new untrusted sites are moved to nofollow

Think how much spam they won't be getting.

Not having the link drop spammers visiting the site is hardly going to be a concern!!

They must be pretty pissed with spammers as well as many others. I think this is actually good in the long run. Making it spammer-free. Although I'm pretty sure a lot wouldn't be liking this changes.lol
