Hi All,
I am new in SEO field. I want to know how much words (characters) can use in Title, description and Keywords in a websites. Please tell me also characters are acceptable in Yahoo and MSN.

Here's how I do this metas.
Title - It's ok to be lengthy with it though I see to it that all my important keywords are within the first 65 characters arranged from the most important to the least (of course this has to be readable by possible visitors).
Description - at least a sentence or a maximum of two sentences.
Meta Keywords - it depends. Just don't overdo it. Also, google don't use it for their ranking decisions. You may need to learn more about it from webmasterworld - http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/28356.htm

meta title does not exist for SE so use as many as you want.

My title characters must just be around 70-90 characters, or up to 7 words. Most SEs truncate the titles so lengthy I think it may not produce the results as expected. But I'm still learning and reading more.

Description: 200 characters
Keywords: 12 - 15 words or phrases

User experience is the most important. Title meta tag and heading 1 h1 should be the same in length and content. Title meta tag is the most important for SEO purposes. 7 - 8 words is the maximum. Visitors don't like long titles and headings, reason every web page has only one theme.

Description about 20 words, but attractive words, related to content and relevant.

The title tag should ideally be less than 64 characters in length. Keywords and description tags, as far as I know, have no restriction. These tags aren't that important anymore.

The title meta tag should be less than 70 characters in length.

Basically, Title Tag must be consist of 60 - 65 characters (maximum).

I heard that for BING, when creating the title text, keep the title text between 5 and 65 characters in length!

150 is the max that google takes note of keywords after that it will just not read the rest and it will just show ... in the google search

Personally, I do around not more than 60 characters. And in my opinion there's no need to be making it longer than that. It will just hurt you in the long run..
