Why would you expect to compete in a busy marketplace from the word go??

It would be a great idea, unfortunately it would NOT be read by the people who really need to. Most of them are not looking for a real way to get results. They want the latest secret on how to get success NOW!!!!

There are many members (none of which claim to be experts) here who post good methods and practices on how to get results from Search and Search Engine promotion/Marketing that will continue to yield results for a long time, unfortunately that signal gets drowned out by the highly vocal and prolific sig link posters who are merely looking for the quickest way to scrape pennies from their crappy MFA site.

The good info is here but you need to dig below the surface a little and learn how to ignore the noise.

And sometimes the urge to give them a metaphorical slapping is too strong and venting at them is the only way of dealing with it. Hopefully they will either learn from the rebuke and take notice what is being told to them, or they will shut up and move on to somewhere that will tolerate their drivel.

I think a moderator on an SEO forum with over 23,000 posts would know that signature links are not worth post padding for.

And yes, there are a lot of '1-line' answers on this topic, and that one line is quite rightly repeated constantly.

You just seem like yet another person looking for a quick fix. Admittedly there are certain things you can do to provide optimum conditions for your site being noticed, but it all starts with having the good unique content

Angelo, no i'm not looking for a quick fix. I'm just looking for good answers. Yes, I'm a newbie at SEO but I've repeatedly said that I want to make quality content above all. I just find it frustrating when so much information here seems to be contradictory and when i've asked questions to make some sense of it all, I'm just given one line replies which don't make sense to me being new to it.

I can't unserstand why there aren't some sticky threads telling people the correct way if you're all so fed up of others giving bad advice or asking stupid questions. Most other techie forums I've been on have sticky threads and I for one would have read them just to make sense of all the cr@p here. Of course there are always going to be people who don't read them but saying that nobody would read them at all seems to be a very defeatist approach. It's no wonder the mods get frustrated when there isn't guidance.

Anyway I'll stick around for a bit and try to learn 'the right way' amongst all the mess but cheers for the replies.

Didn't mean to have a go but trust me when I say that this is a very good forum and you cannot fault the moderators and many of the other members.

Perhaps we should all be a little more patient at times but it is very frustrating that so many stubborn people come on here with their own idea of what SEO is all about, leave 1-10 posts and then disappear like Keyser Soze (
