You simply get additional traffic on forum posting by putting sig links as you post. Just exactly like what you just did, so I don't really know why you made a post with your sig links if you still don't know how you are getting any benefits from it.

Forum posting would not be enough. You have to participate on other techniques as well like blog commenting, article submissions, classified ads, press release and social bookmarking. These techniques helps you get back links which helps generate traffic.

In my experience, I never get success with only one method. You have to be an allrounder ( I mean when it comes to backlinks

). You have to get backlinks from blog comments, article submissions, directory submissions, hight pr inner links, social bookmarks and forums postings. However, for me, blog comments and blogging give a big turn around compare to other ways.

Participating in social networks will give you a good traffic. In short, doing off page optimization can help. Like forum posting. It is a process to gain your backlink. And having a good backlinks will leads to a good PR. Having a good ranking in SE with your target keyword will lead to a good traffic. So just keep on building quality link with your target anchor text. Did you know that SE's index forums link frequently. But be sure you are participating in forums.

Well, with the fourm u have created just for the sigs?? Are u kidding?

I don't think that forum posting is the best method to generate traffic. Nothing beats PPC campaign when it comes to boosting site traffic drastically. The only downside is that you have to spend money for it.

Just posting info on forums will not produce a great amount of traffic to your site but is surely one good method of receiving additional traffic. One method I have used in the past to add extra web traffic on forums is to provide a free list of some sort. Example would be a list of "dofollow directories or blogs", a list of the richest web marketers, list of the top keyword tools etc. Forbes use such list regularly to attract visitors (list of worlds billionaires). Great post!
