You are mixing up two totally different things. PR (Useless Toolbar variety or slightly useful real) is NOT based on the "number of clicks from the home page" it is purely about how many links point to the page and the PR of the linking page(s).

The "number of clicks away" can determine the relative importance the site operator puts on the page and the more "clicks" away from will make the page less likely to be crawled.
