"dofollow" is a term that has been MADE UP, It does NOT exist. It is BS from idiots trying to make people think they know more than nothing at all.

Signature link is no more than branding yourself. You can expect traffic but nothing more than that.

It's low quality links but it's useful anyway. I think, article's submit much better

ok if you want to actually get some PR from signature you could do something like this:

Install SEOQuake toolbar & turn on the SERPs feature
search in Google for:

"Powered by vBulletin" + "your niche/keywords"

Once you've found forums with relevent content to your niche search that site like so:

site:www.relevent-forum-name-here.com

Then look through SERPs to find any threads that have acquired some PR. Older forums often have threads which might have a PR 2 or 3. It's not especially high, and this will be diluted between a lot of other links on the page, but it's a good way increase your PR with a bit of effort.

Please remember though, there's no point reopening old threads just for the sake of a link, much better to actually contribute something worthwhile.

Signature linking back to your site is helpful to some extent. You've to post in dofollow forums if you want some backlinks for your site. Lots of webmasters do that. But this is just an off page SEO step among others.
