Digg,stumbleupon & delicious are the most effective social bookmarking sites and you get a lots of traffic.Other bookmarking sites also drives traffic to the site.

Recently, I only bookmark my pages to Digg and Propeller. I think they're the best SB sites out there. They can get crawled by Google faster and even rank higher than other social bookmarking sites.

Depends what your site is about.

I looked into what people were searching for in Digg and "howto" was a very common one. If you have a site with howto guides, for example, this would be a good place to submit.

For one of the sites I'm promoting, a travel business site, I used digg primarily because Travel and Leisure is a popular section on that site. I wrote some "howto" articles about our product and we got some traffic and a couple of signups... not huge amounts, but for that particular business it really is a numbers game so they all help

Social bookmarking site brings some good and quality traffic to your site , for me sites like eZdia , digg , mixx , delicious , twitter etc are good for generating traffic

Ya I do agree, Digg is giving good backlink, but I never get even a single referal traffic via digg. But, I have got more referal Traffic from Delicious, stumpleupon and folkd.

How about your experience with social bookmarking services? Which social bookmarking service do you find most effective?

I get about 20% of my traffic from Twitter, and I've had some clients from it, so it's good traffic IMO

For me, the most effective social bookmarking sites are Digg, Stumbleupon and delicious because I can easily get a lot of traffic there.
