A great article if you want to learn in depth about Google's Algorithm. It's about links, meta KW tags, etc. Must read! Enjoy.

You will NOT be learning "in depth" about Google's algorithm. You are reading an interpretation of the effects of some elements that may be factors.

Don't people realise by now that no-one is sure about Google's Algorithm, so why even speculate?
Just get on with it and do what you think is right and maybe listen to the gurus once in a while.

It's an informative article and described well but very long. Also keywords meta tags are not very useful in google. Also it is necessary to keep an eye on google updates .

Google can always change whatever algorithm they want because it is their servers. Right now the only thing that matters is that adding more backlinks and constant visitors to your site can boost it's rank in SERPS.

Thank you for sharing this long article. But I think this article won't last long because there is an update that Google will change it's algorithm. I don't know when?

Seriously if anyone really understands the algorithm, the person must be very rich by now.

The guys at SEOmoz are very well respected in SEO circles, they conduct pretty good tests to produce their SEO info so they're well worth reading. They ran a good piece a while ago on how to perfectly optimise a page:

http://www.seomoz.org/blog/perfectin...e-optimization

As Chris said though, these are still only GUESSES about parts of the Google algorithm, albeit much better ones than your standard SEO fakers...

The seomoz site is very good, i think nobody can know exactly how the algorithm works. Each person give his own interpretation, some are closer than other on the reality. We need only to try out.

here are various algorithms to calculate relevancy. Each of these algorithms has different relative weights for common factors like keyword density, links, or metatags. That is why different search engines give different search results pages for the same search string. What is more, it is a known fact that all major search engines, like Yahoo!, Google, MSN, etc. periodically change their algorithms and if you want to keep at the top, you also need to adapt your pages to the latest changes. This is one reason (the other is your competitors) to devote permanent efforts to SEO, if you'd like to be at the top.
The last step in search engines' activity is retrieving the results. Basically, it is nothing more than simply displaying them in the browser – i.e. the endless pages of search results that are sorted from the most relevant to the least relevant sites.

Yep it does, sometimes everyday there is a small change or a new filter added.
