I've got a client that want to see more than the ranking improvements for his targeted keywords, the increase in traffic, the increase in keywords used to find his site.

What else do you guys include in your reports?

Good Heavens a sensible client who knows that "ranking reports" aren't worth the paper they are written on.

And if you use "ranking reports" as a measure of success maybe YOU should take a lesson from your client about what is a useful thing to measure!

Personally I never gave clients any pointless "reports" based on pointless "metrics", I just let the increase in sales and revenue speak for itself.

That's what I do too, except I have a client that wants reports with pretty pictures. Other than increase in traffic from search engines, increase in keywords used to bring in traffic I have no idea what else to show.

Make sure they have a hit counter up. Show them what positions in Google they are in for specific keywords and how many times those keywords actually get searched per month. Then explain that is all that's necessary. Everything else means nothing.

Five - ten years ago "ranking reports" were de rigeur for SEO work, simply because it was the days of the "Google Dance", where the rankings only changed once a month and every datacentre showed exactly the same results for all but 4 days when the updates where taking place.
Unfortunately the prevailing SEO "wisdom" hasn't really moved on since then either.

can you people help me out on this issue.
I need to prepare a seo proposal for the clients as well as seo report on weekly and monthly basis.
should i contact to any seo company by asking sample seo report for my website and i can make changes on that report and send it to the clients. Will this work?
If you guys have some different ideas please post it for me.

you can include monthly activities reports, submission reports, rank reports, traffic reports, visitors reports, page view reports etc..
it depends what your client want in reports

Ranking report is not helpful to show any thing but you can still send them some stats that site is improving on monthly basis.

Your can give them what you have done for SEO, about how many backlinks you get, how many articles you write and submit, and how many blog your write,just all this you have done, and the keywords ranking improvement, and the traffic you get, and the decrease of the bounce rate, and the stay time increase, and the conversion rate improvement, this is all i can do! You can also include other factors such as backlinks and pagerank in your report. But they're almost useless. Traffic and ranking are the most important factors that determine if your campaign is indeed working.

invlude no. of backlinks you got for them and what advantage it made for the client. That will be helpful
