Hi - i have bit of a confusing situatiion when checking the results of searches in IE on my main machine (the one i work on mostly).
If i google - for instance 'ricoh click' - one of my sites comes up in IE at no 2 www.ricohclicksolutions.co.uk - I told the client the good news and he said - no its no 7 ! So i checked again in FF and sure as eggs is eggs - it was no 7 - checked on a laptop and the same - no 7 .
This was the same in all other browsers( as in position 7) - i even checked in IE tester and they came up as no 2 in all other versions . This is the same for another company i am working on - for 'rated tradesperson' - www.decision2day.com comes up no1 - at the side - it does say (178 Visits) - but in FF or on another computer it appears nowhere.
Is IE indexing locally the sites i visit and putting them to the top? if so this is giving misleading information back to me when i am doing a check on the SERPS. And if this is the case - how do i turn this feature off?
Many thanks.
UPDATE****
Well i signed out of google as the user i was and now the site comes in the correct order - so it must be when i am signed into google - somehow it puts my sites to the top of the SERPS - strangley - I cant find preference setting to modify this behaviour.
Has anyone got any views/comments on this
