Hi, I've recently started an attempt to improve my friends websites standings in search engines and have come across a problem.

I wrote a Digg article for the launch of the website and that Digg entry has now replaced the website in Google.

To view the website in Google, I now have to view the omitted results, which is obviously not ideal.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Many thanks

I'd give it a couple of days before you start to panic. Digg technically might be counted as news to Google, in which case it'll fade in importance.

Firstly make sure you've logged out of Google if you have an account, that can affect the SERPs you see.

Secondly, sounds like you need to add more weight to the website. Build plenty of backlinks.

Thirdly, remove the Digg article if you can.

The one reason why "submitting" articles is not always the best idea.

focus on building some more quality links and things will fix themselves in time. It sounds like that article might have been great to include on the site itself

That's why? I only consider it, in getting some visitors.

That just mean that your site authority is not better than digg, imo digg post imporance will losing as time going, and increase your site's links popularity and you will come to the top of digg post!

Aah! But the "Digg post" will NOT diminish in "importance". That will very likely be gaining more links than the original article will do, and all the while "your" article will only be getting the one link from the Digg post.
