In 10+ years at this I know how useful links are and exactly what they are useful for, but as yet I have never found a use for knowing how many links there were/are or seemed to be.
Which links are of GENUINE value are easily found in the site logs, they are the ones that send real visitors, the rest are simply links. You do not know which links "count" for SEs or how much they "count", the numbers that SEs report are wildly inaccurate, the ones they show invariably do not send visitors.
I've owned, maintained and generally looked after many sites in many market places (including adult) and have yet to find a case where knowing the number of links to the pages gave me any thing useful to work with.
