The Best Webmaster Forum
I have to say when it comes to the "best webmaster forum" webmaster-talk, after just a few days of making posts, win's hands down imho!
In my experience, baring in mind I am pretty outspoken and have a bit of a sense of humour that usually does not go down well, I have found other "webmaster forums" a bit of a let down.
In fact sometimes webmaster forums can be a bit depressing. Getting infractions on the likes of DP just for calling out a fraudster and getting accused of "attacking members" is more than a little frustrating.
In all my years on the net, which are many as I have been studying SEO (Intensively) since 2003, I have never come across a better webmaster forum anywhere!
On this webmaster forum named webmaster-talk.com (intelligently hyphenated) within days I have found the admin and mod's not only participate, they do so in an enlightened and constructive manner, with insight and solid well researched knowledge, as well as which they also have a sense of humour which is lacking elsewhere.
This post/thread is sounding like a bit of a testimonial now isn't it?
And so it should!
I rarely write about how impressed I am with others on the net. In fact I have only ever been impressed enough by another forum once in order to freely make a post designed (or written) to target search terms I believe are deserved.
I am jealous! I have a forum to and although on page 1 of Google for "Worlds Best SEO Forum" I believe webmaster-talk is (presently) much more deserving of the number 1 on Google for "Webmaster Forum" and "Best Webmaster Forum" than any other webmaster forum!
Anyway enough of my A - Licking stick that up your jumper and - well you know!
And this is related to SEO How?
You will see!

This thread straight on to page 1 of Google in less than half an hour!
That might answer the "How is this related to SEO" question you may or may not be wondering about!?!?

Butt Kisser!!!!
I do agree though. Some other forums it seems, are actively looking to ban members for the slightest little thing.. For example, I was a member at digital point forums. I hadn't been a member long and hadn't used it much.
Then one day I signed in and got a message saying
"member banned. for how long - life. reason - duplicate account - dragunov",
or something like that!
This account was not mine and I have no idea how they came to this conclusion, but I do not care. This just proves they do not run the forum properly so I will not use it again.
Webmaster Talk though, is currently my favourite forum and i hope they make no silly mistakes like digital point in the future..

Totally agree!
DP give out crazy infractions and bans. I had a weeks ban there whilst in the middle of an auction, luckily the buyer was able to contact me via email as had my details. The DP forum is somewhere I visit very rarely now a days as they are definately not the "best webmaster forum".
Webmaster-talk on the overhand well they have my vote for " best webmaster forum!", something I admit I am a little jealous of to, as I have a forum to and hope one day the webmaster part will be as good as this webmaster forum.

DigitalPoint is usually full of people who can barely speak English, know very little about anything online, want everything for free, and who think its still 1998.
Or is that harsh?

I agree. This is the most intelligent forum that I know of. DP - I believe got google slapped for something a while back. I can't remember for what though.
Anyway, the two best ppl in here that I've learned a lot from is Chris and I believe the other guy's name is Ed Gray? but anyway - great place to learn. I hate DP since ppl give a lot of stupid advice over there. They hear it from other ppl and then they repeat it.

You got that right above!
I think one of the things DP got Google slapped for was some scheme they set up (Can't remember off hand what the name of it was right now). Lot's of sites got reportedly penalised for participating in the scheme.
Anyone remember the name of it?

It's Google - so expected to do so!
Was back on page 2 and also on page 3 last time I looked, but who knows where it will eventually stabalise for a while.

Yeah fair enough, major ***-kissery, but well deserved!
I've had your experience with other crappy webmaster forums, including the aforementioned waste of web space, and never have I come across a forum as good as this one.
But anyway thats my </*** kissing>

Exactly, digitalpoint forums is one of the best webmaster forums but very strict in its terms and conditions and it is already mentioned in its guidelines that you can not use multiple accounts and so that if you create a duplicate then sure it will ban or disable your account and I think Its good step to avoid spam.

Well, I'd say that Digital Point is the best market place for webmasters/designers/SEOs. I don't really see that much of an interaction in the threads, although I see a lot of "banned" posters in the replies. although I also see a lot of those kind of replies here and other forums, those repetitive and one liner replies... I wouldn't say that this is the best webmaster forum but its better than digital point except for the market place...

I have joined a few different webmaster forums and have found this website to be the most useful. It has helped me with a variety of things. I know I am guilty of not looking to see if a question simalar to mine has been asked before but I do read posts almost daily espicially in the SEO talk forum.
I have been banned before by chrishirst but that was I had questionable content on my webpage. I guess I should have read through the guidelines first though lol

Gotta say DP has one or two redeeming features but as for being the "best webmaster forum" or "strict" in it's terms and condistions, I personally would have to say that is a "perspective" thing.
In my experience DP has lots of "spam" posts that go unaffected.
They also have ban/infraction policies that seem to allow fraudsters to get away with their activities and penalise those trying to be honest.
Yes some of the things they have in place work, but some also do not.
@jabo - Well you could of course help make the market place here better !!!!!!
