You guys have this problem before?

In one of my niches - I'm coming up #1 in Firefox browser, but when I googled it on IE - I'm coming up at #12.

and yes - I am logged out of my google account on both browsers.

what's the deal?

My friends websites were getting different search results on his computer campared to mine.. I cleared all browsing history (cookies, search history, cache etc) on his computer. Which my firefox does automatically after closing. This sorted the problem..

When you store this data your browser remembers what websites you visit most and where you navigate after typing certain keywords. This affects the search results. Clearing it should give the proper search results.

This may or may not be your problem but I thought I'd mention it..

Well, ya it sometime happens that there's some difference because of browser. You need to check by clearing cookies and better will be if you try mutiple datacentre check at-

Or you could just accept that what you see is NOT what other people will see, then you can stop checking and do something useful instead.

thx guys - found the problem. I had to disable the "customizations based on search activity." that is w/in web history.

wow this is great to know.... Kinda freaked me out that I have not been checking my ranking in IE. But we are all good though.
