Anyone know how to optimize a Youtube video (besides putting the KWs in the title section)?

Also - would backlinks to the video help any?

I've played around with YT a little, this isn't 100%, just my initial thoughts. It seems that you should be putting keyword in title, at the very start of the first paragraph of your description and in your tags also.

It seems to help to make comments on other people's videos too.

I'm playing around some more, I'll post my findings soon!

The principle is still sort of the same as optimizing a regular page. Backlinks will still help you out (providing they are good, relevant, natural ones), you can still do a lot of the same on-page optimizing, such as throwing in your (relevant) keywords in the right places. Plus with videos, it's more often a good idea to use social bookmarking sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon. If you think your video will be what Stumblers are looking for, then submit the page to SU and the likes

While posting video you need to add some relevant and appealing title with having keywords in that and add a description to the video. That you can do.

Add a attractive title on the video that you have just uploaded and make the description of that video with a lot of descriptive words related to the content of your video.

Create an interesting and appealing video..
Promote it by leaving a link of your youtube profile in blogs and forums..
Get some positive comments, ratings, favorites, friends and subscribers to your youtube profile..

Besides adding keywords to tittle, decription and tags, submit your video to social media websites is also very important. Different from other websites, video sharing websites got vote system, how many people watch it? how many people like it? Hits means popular on video websites.

It's because other people will have the exact thing. if you tag the name of the videos, it's likely someone else will have the same tags, and if their videos have been up longer than yours, then their videos will show up first.

Only if the viewer has sorted their search results by date.
