I've been threatened by one of my competitors because I'm outranking him at the #1 position for some competitive keywords in Google.

I know this may sound amateurish, but is there anyway he can harm my SERP's (I don't know of any, but he insist there is.)? If so, could some of you guys point out few tactics he can use?

By the way, my site doesn't contain any questionable materials or black hat SEO strategies..

Only by being better at promoting their site, which apparently they aren't.

I agree... if you have done a better job and not anything questionable your web deserve to grow... maybe they can hire you!

well, I have seen some websites wherein searching for more details about them, sometimes there would come some hate mails or hate posts in blogs and forums about them. well, if I'm a visitor and If I see this, I'd probably consider it as a sign to not browse the site anymore...

^can he do this to him? if yes what can he do to get rid of it?

I don't think he can harm your SERP as he has not possibility at all. But try to work more on your website and do your best in SEO.

No it can't harm your serp, but the size of your niche plays a key role in your serp. A single competitor can't do anything.

Now I see what this guy meant by him stating that he was going to get my site removed from the search engines. What he is doing is spamming A LOT of random e-mail addresses with a short e-mail and link to my website. Will this get my site removed from the SE's? What can be done about this?

email spam and Search Engines have no connection with each other.

I know that....But what if several of the people that are being spammed notify the major search engines that they are getting spammy e-mails which include my link? Do you think that the major search engine employees would take action an try to remove my link from the SERP's?

I don't think you would need to worry about that. However, take advantage of the opportunity. Whatever page he's sending people to, put up an explanation of what's happened, apologize, and then try convert those visitors anyways. If he changes the link, then use your .htaccess file to catch them and redirect them back to the same page.

Do you tell the Search Engines about every spammy link you get??

A real marketer can always find a way to turn things to their advantage.

There are always people who click on links, even in spam emails and you never know, you might even make some extra sales out of it.
