hi

for a newly created website which initially has 5 - 10 pages and which would have more pages later on, along with on page seo off page seo is very important for a search engine to find a newly created website

my question is for such a newly created website what are the various way of going about with link building as more number of links pointing to a new website would be good. from what i know this link building can be done by

going to directories and finding the category and have a link to the website, mentioning links from websites of clients, submitting links in industry specific websites, authoritative websites, having a blog on the new website

what are the other best practices that can be adopted for getting lots of links pointing to a newly created website.

please advice.

thanks.

blog commenting, directory submissions are easiest ways of getting links. however i dont think they have much value though unless they are on related niche.

article marketing is a good technique.

blog reviews is another.

There are literally hundreds of ways to build links. If I were starting over again I'd set some easily attainable goals for myself. Something like:

10 forum postings per day
10 profile created
1 article submitted to EZA or Go Articles
1 article submitted to Free Traffic System
1 Video/Podcast/Press Release

Focus on gaining quality links and don't worry about the pure numbers.

While this may be true, the links are calculated as extremely weak due to the massive amount of posts one person can achieve on a forum.

Write articles then submit to article directories and sites. Make sure those articles you've submitted are on the right category.

I use Yahoo Answers and other Answer websites not for the backlinks but because of the number of customers I can bring in if someone searches with a question.

I have also found that targeting questions is good way to get conversions as well. Less traffic, but higher conversion rate.

thanks for replying

regarding directory submission is it by adding links in websites like yellow pages, any country specific directory listing websites, also some directories have a nofollow for hyperlinks so i guess we have to find out which directories do not have the nofollow attribute

can you suggest any article submission websites or do i just google for
article submission

thanks

Try those:

EzineArticles Unique content for backlink

AAS: GoArticles Basic HTML-Tags, Links in resource box

ArticlesLand Basic HTML-Tags, rich anchor text in resource box, resource box allows line breaks etc.
(PR5, Alex165584)

ArticlesBase Basic HTML-Tags, rich anchor text in resource box,
(PR5, Alex1826)

http://www.qondio.com/ [url= type links in text, unique content
(PR5, Alex42000)

ISnare min 500 words

SearchWarp Title max 100 words, html-bio in article (use html view)
(PR4, Alex7646)

http://www.easyarticles.com

Mind you: Multiple backlinks from the same domain/ip number do not really count, so get 2 articles on every directory and your done for backlinking purposes. Traffic is a different matter, for that you have to throw enough stuff against the wall and some will stick. Think of several hundret articles to EZineArticles.com (I'm not kidding).

Set your G00gle Alerts to track your market via keyword or phrase and set it to render it back in G00gle Reader..not email but a feed. Let it run a few days and harvest the data into G00gle Reader (preferaby over the weekend when people may be more apt to update/post). Then simply filter through G00gle Reader posts for Blog URLS and forums. These are obviously the relevant posts/conversations on the web concerning your market.

Join in and post. Drop a link but be sure to contribute as well. Dont just link spam 'em.

hth,

marc
