Hello friends,
I have been testing to write some articles and submit them to article directories and got good SEO results in the first month. But after that, some good keywords that are used to index on the first or second page in Google are not in that position anymore.
I did the same thing on directory submission, it happened the same in the past.
What method is better in term of SEO?

The better method is putting those articles on your own site. Unless you guest post on a high-traffic blog to get traffic and get your name out there, it's almost always better to expand your site than someone else's.

I would use both methods in your SEO practice, but personally I prefer Article Submission the most.

I really like expanding on your own site - but I have a couple writers and I put their articles on sites like EZA or ArticleBase pointing back to my own site or client's sites. I get plenty of referral traffic - not to mention sometimes the articles themselves get ranked pretty high in the serps.

Mybe you must increase quality of backlink ....
You can follow social bookmarking / social networks and forum submission to promote your'e sites ...

I always prefer Directory submission for SEO because Directory submissions give one-way links.

I'd go for article submissions myself, but wouldn't discount directories.

between the two mentioned above, I do prefer article submission that directory submission; for the first one drive more traffics compare to the later one.

Article submissions are very important for SEO, i submit to hundreds but with unique to semi-unique content and link back to my site. Referral traffic is a nice bonus but it works awesome for rankings. This is only one way of building though, the key is to build links for every possible direction.

How much time do you spend doing that in terms of actual hours?
What do you want to make per hour?
Are your link building efforts bringing in enough money to cover the cost of your time spent on them?

In my own experiences, Google or other engines would like fresh contents more but their top position would usually not last for long.
I think article submission would be better for link building campaigns because you usually have more controls on their contents.
