I did a search on "SEO Services" today and found out that a lot of these companies are promising the moon to everyone. All this crap about "we can get you on the first page" - and they are charging thousands for it. Unbelievable.

I know that there are good SEO companies out there - but these major companies still hung up about submitting their client's site to a thousand directories - come on!

Anyway, just wondering how everyone feels about these companies - and how they are getting away with this. Are the majority of SEO companies really this bad or maybe I was just looking at the wrong companies???

I suppose when one bad SEO site claims that they WILL get you on page 1 of Google then others feel that they need to make similar claims to compete. Reputable companies from what I have read will not promise anything however the average webmaster (who doesn''t understand seo) will probably not be too excited by a company that doesn't promise much.

It's just that the better ones don't care about getting "rankings" so you will only find the junk "get more links" appearing there.

The quality companies don't need to be scattering self promo links far and wide, they get all the work they need from word on mouth referrals

Yes i agree there are a load of bad ones who seem to dominate on google searches, and the good ones go with word of mouth.

yeah, alot of the website SEO companies are in a highly competitive niche, so it's best to stick with software and manual SEO.

I agree, it is more safe and reliable to have it with software and manually done.

Yes i am also agree many of SEO companies seem like this..And personally i prefer you manually submission.

Maybe these companies just use black hat technology, your traffic will increase soon, but this will be punished by google. The best way is to do manually submission.

Its all depends on service getter. He/She must inquire before buying such services.
Good companies always gives true suggestions and do not give any extra commitments.

It's better to do SEO yourself if you have such a possibility. It's not so difficult to do it yourself- you just need to learn a bit, and it's cheaper.

there lots of SEO Company that tell things like that..course they're do it to get more clients and that..but still its up to client whether they'll bite it or not..clients must be wise and know how to look for a good services..do research, dont hesitate to ask..

Don't ever go for an seo service, they just eat away your money, instead do it yourself or hire someone personally to do it.

My question is why do some bigger SEO companies claim to work for huge companies like Coke, Dell and such who clearly don't need SEO campaigns.

I was perusing computer services in Crags list an in Mass and this lady add SEO services n for like 300. She had one example of:
"Google Bergan Tax Lawyers" and one of our sites is on the first page. and when you did it wasn't which made me feel good.

So I guess most people don't know about it.

Definitely, Its like when you look out for resources where in you want companies to do SEO for you, then i think this is not correct. Its only just for the sake of getting Ranked in Google in Top SERP's does not works, you need to be more SEO friendly to the search engines then you will rank without all these off page services.
