What are your thoughts on the direction of Web 2.0 technologies with regards to SEO?

web 2.0 adds interactivity so users stay on the site longer and you will have a lower bounce rate which would make your rank better.

I use to love web 2.0 props - and I was doing it to get ranked higher in the SERPs. The problem was - it never did work. I did Hubpages, EZA, Squidoo - and nothing moved me up.

Now I know better and try to promote my site(s) instead of trying to push them up in the SERPs.

Web 2.0 technologies are good but only if you are helping your users in a proper manner, you should not a lot of spam, if you do so then its your site which will be at loss.

Basically all social bookmarking sites ,forums blogs,directories are based on web 2.0 and they are helpful to do Off Page optimization of a website. So web 2.0 is very crucial for SEO.
