Hi all, I am in need of some help!!

I have build my website http://image-retail.co.uk and have just plodded along since! I am teaching myself how to build it, promote it, meta tags etc and although I am getting there i kind of need some advice on what to spend time on, what to leave etc etc.

Everywhere keeps on about keywords and I have no idea what they are and how to use them??

I have started building link exchanges as you can see from my links page, I have started doing back links from my ebay store, facebook, myspace, gumtree to name a few but dont know if I am using my time productively doing this stuff or do I need to get these keywords figured out first?

HELP!!!! any suggestions greatly received, Thanks.

Based on some of the things you're already trying I think you're following some old advice and some not so good advice.

Here's a decent beginner's guide to seo. I think it will put you on a better path.

The best advice I can offer is to build a site that real people want to visit and want to come back to. When you've done that keep reviewing your site and improving it. If you build a truly useful site and promote it a little to people who are likely to be interested a lot of your online marketing will fall into place naturally.

That's certainly not all there is to marketing and seo, but it's an important step.

First decide what keywords you're going to use then focus on that keyword that way you will have clear path in promoting your site.
