i think quality and quantity is verY important things to inc rease your'e PR ...
so you must makes good quality and more quantity of backlinks...but most important that, you must choice a right and relevant keyword ...

I just think ppl have strategy of getting high in serp, stick to what works for you, anyhow the OP posted some basic steps choose from it and see which one works for your site.

Wow. These posts gave me goosebumps. If SEO is this easy, why on earth SEOMOZ, Distilled, Hubspot and other such SEO companies earn $ 50,000 upwards per project?
See, SEO is not rocket science. But it's not exactly too easy either. On-page SEO includes everything from information architecture, keyword frequency, keyword placement etc, etc, etc.
Off page SEO is far, far tougher. You got to be on your toes all the time. Directory submissions have very little value these days so save your time for something valuable.
Approach SEO holistically. why would you visit a site repeatedly? For its information right? So plan on making your site a information hub if you plan to keep your rankings on a long term basis.
What I suggest is read a lot and implement what you are curious about on a personal website. You learn by trial and error.  |

SEO is easy. Easy peasy in fact. The reason SEO services are costly is because it's a skill few people have mastered and it's very time consuming. Hence the cost.

Reflecting back at what I have done insofar in SEO, seems you are right. Things are very time consuming to master but once you do, it is child's play. Not a big deal.  |

You know guys I know that they are really effective in driving a traffic but for some beginners it is complicated to used, beginners must do basic SEO like forums and blog posting, using this method they can understand the importance of do follow and no follow in link building.

The importance of dofollow and nofollow? Which would you rather have, 100 signature links on a single forum of dofollow, or 1 nofollow link on say the BBC or CNN?
Nothing wrong with nofollow links, the bots may not follow it but people do, and the bots still associate your url with whatever anchor text you maybe using. |

I would like to add some points like Firstly .. SEO is not an Easy task!!! It requires one to have patience and take a long time to show up results. Its so because the SE crawler should be aware of your site web presence, to exactly make him know where are you listed and how exactly your site is helpful for the users!!!
Secondly.. SEO needs skills which are different and More Natural for search engines!!!

Here is my secret, put content out there that is useful, people will WANT to link to it naturally, people will find your content useful, BAMMM.
Where was the "content related to the keywords" part of that "SEO list"?
