Depends on your competition maybe - like Chris said - you have to experiment with things.

Hey All,

The most important off page factor to securing high rankings in Google is correct anchor text pointing to the exact page of your website that has been optimized to target that term for that keyword phrase.

By hyperlink your website address to your anchor text phrase, in the resource box of any article marketing you are doing. And doing forum marketing start a signature file and hyperlink text phrases in it. This is a great way to link to other web pages besides your home page.

Thanks,
Jamse

What is important in anchor text is inclusion of important keywords in the anchor text .It usually gives your visitors useful information about the content of the page you're linking to..

You can put more reliable keywords that are likely to be searched by users as the anchor text, it will surely help in getting your site in high positions.

I beleive that you need a lot of anchor text with "Houston seo" and "austin seo" separately - which will do you the most good - but that you also need to mix up the anchor text (to make links appear natural) and therefore some "houston search engine optimisation company" and "houston and austin seo" and the odd "my site" or url.

yeah I've tested this whole "looking natural" link idea by applying 2,000 forum sig links in one hit, obviously all with the same anchor text, as the only inbound links to a website of mine. Low and behold, the links helped rank the site for those keywords.

Best thing you can do is just test and see what works best for you. SEO and website promotion is an organic job that needs constant reassessment.

Look into the frequency of keywords that your traffic is searching for using Google Adwords. If the majority of people who are trying to find your site are looking for "Austin SEO Company" you will want to target this first. By including both "Austin" and "Houston" you are making the keywords less targeted and therefore will have less effect on the SEO for that term.

If all words were equal you would get more hits for Austin seo than Houston seo due to placement of the anchor text, if it's a new site go for the easiest one first, not the one with the highest competition, there's only one page on google, thats the first one, aint going to do you any good being on page 6 of google with the hard one.

Yes, if your site has perfect navigation with the keyword being targeted as an anchor text then it will rank good in SERP's.

Focusing on one keyword can have knock on effects for other keywords too. Just play around and check the results frequently.

No it doesn't you need to build separat links for each keyphrases ...

And for a guy owning on a SEO company this is hilarious .... to ask such simple questions ... ohh well another "expert" ...

My plan of attack for this one would be to find out which locality gets a higher search volume, using something like google keyword tool. I would then focus on that... call it 'Houston SEO' for arguemtns sake. I would then also optimise the secondary phrase. But... recognising that it is the secondary phrase you can then focus more time and resources on the one which SHOULD bring more traffic.

Of course if the lesser search volume key phrase is far less competitive to optimise then the irony is that you could potentially see more clicks from making that one your primary focus.

Like they say... have a play around and monitor carefully.
