I uploaded a seo optimized pdf doc at docstoc & bookmarked it at digg,reddit & mixx.

I've pinged it twice within 48's and it's nowhere in the serpts with the keyword in titled there's 32,900 competing pages how do I get it to rank in the top ten.

Maybe try creating something useful instead of spamming the internet.

I never optimize for PDF but I've seen lots of PDF in google but never on top.

I hope you found a good niche for your PDF. What I have noticed is that Google in particular give much more priority for web pages rather than PDF. But PDF on the other hand have a better retention rate. It's an even toss.

It would be better if you can concentrate on social media and social bookmarking more for PDF. Also, if you have the same content available in a web page make sure to leave a canonical tag.

Your better off writing an article and placing it on EZA and hope that it will rank.

Upload the PDF to Scribd, will rank in a couple of days if it isn't too competitive.
