So ive created my seo myths domain after many years of umming and arring, while I have a few SEO myths blog posts planned.
I was wondering what would be the first SEO Myth ? The most obvious SEO myth out there, ive been racking my brains but very hard to think of what would be the most obvious myth ??

When I first started out I thought that by following some SEO methods and techniques, I can get indexed within a certain timeframe as claimed by the so-called experienced IMers....Not true..

lol very true I think you missed DONT out of your sentence, how many times do you see people on these very forums with SEO services in their sig but asking for advice on how to actually do SEO !

There are so many myths but the problem is not everyone agrees, some say this works and others say they don't so finding a true myth could be a challenge.

the biggest myth in seo is that without promoting a site it cannot get a good ranking.
but in the fact if the site is informative it will automatically bring traffic to your site.

WOC, I definitely think this is one of the BIGGEST fallacies. People believe that higher PR = more traffic = more sales. In addition, people worry TOO much about PR instead of concentrating on increasing their SERPs. I think you are on the right track and I'm looking forward to reading all the myths!
